After traveling approximately 5,869 miles we made it to Seattle. During our trip we had to replace the car, as well as the tent, one air mattress, purchased warmer gear, had one sprained ankle, met many really friendly people, saw amazing sights, enjoyed living off the grid and had a blast!
Our pod arrived from Miami and we emptied the relatively small amount of stuff from it and put it in storage in Seattle. It was amusing to see the pod covered in salt and grime from traveling across the country through the winter weather.
We went and listened to music at the sea monster bar.
We selected a Catalina 34 to purchase which is currently located in Olympia. We are waiting to negotiate a few final details as a result of the survey and will post again once we have resolution. We are currently in Pacific Beach staying in a heated yurt at the campground, engaging in social distancing and chilling out!

Have been checking up on your progress, good to hear your stuff arrived, hopefully fully intact – the pod looked a bit worse for wear. Sounds like you’re close to having a home again, hope the Catalina works out!
Went grocery shopping late this evening, hoping to go when there were minimal crowds… that didn’t work out as planned. The local Winco was very busy and they were sold out of lots of stuff… a very strange sight indeed, with multiple lines stretching to the back of the store at about 10:30pm on a Friday night

We went to Safeway and didn’t have a problem with groceries. Thankfully they were rationing items like toilet paper to prevent people from buying too much!

Love the yurt and knowing you are warm and safe with Snoopy by your side. Dave looked up the Catalina 34 (and it’s 34 yrs. old). LOVELY! Hope all goes well! We are having high winds and dropping temps. Might get lucky and get some precip. Mtns. could get a couple of feet. Love you guys!

Hi Nancy, We hope to close on the sailboat purchase Wednesday. We are camping at deception pass state park right now. Stay warm!

Hi Karen and Eric! We miss you in Miami. Strange world we’re living in now. Luckily marinas are allowed to stay open so although the sailing club has had to cancel all activities and close the bar and restaurant (except for takeout-hoping people order and keep the club restaurant going!) we’re able to have launch service and keep open. Is there a link to the boat? Would love to see it. Did you have a survey? Hope you’re able to close and it all goes smoothly.

Hi Jen, we miss you all too. We hear that now marinas are closed in Miami which is a bummer. We just posted a few pictures of our newly purchased Catalina 34 and will post more when we get more organized. The boat was surveyed and the only major problem was that the heater does not work. Thankfully we are currently plugged into the dock and able to use the electric space heater!
