Made it to Big Bend National Park on Sunday. What a beautiful place. We drove through the park on our first day and discovered that all the campgrounds in the park were full. Not to be deterred, we found a small quirky campground in a ghost town outside of the park.

It is definitely colder here than Miami but we are bundled up and enjoying the change of pace.

Got a campsite in the park on Monday near the Rio Grand.

We have completed hikes every day with amazing scenery and are currently camped in a really nice spot in the middle of a basin in the park surrounded by mountains and rock formations. One of our hikes went to a spot where there were ancient petroglyphs on one of the rock formations. Way cool!

Heading north tomorrow to a State park on the way to Guadalupe Mountains National Park in northwest Texas.

It’s probably about as cold here as where you are now. Brrrr. Looks like a beautiful spot. Went to Delray last night- thought of you two. Have fun and stay warm and safe!

Have retired (older folks) friends in Ohio who spent several winters as campground host volunteers in
Big Bend Nat’l Pk. and loved it.
