Despite the fact that the weather has turned to fall/winter mode, we are still having a great time enjoying the outdoors. We went back into the Cascades in mid October to do a final camping trip before the snow season. It rained the entire time and was cold, but we prevailed. We went on amazing hikes every day, did some fishing, had campfires every night – yes, Erik can make a fire in the rain, and enjoyed the scenery. We were fortunate to have left after one week as it snowed the night we left. In addition to the trip in the Cascades, we have a ton of local hiking near Anacortes which has been fantastic.
Nice scenery in the cascades with lots of hiking. We went fishing one afternoon and determined that there are absolutely no fish in this lake.
Our glamping set up made things cozy for the rainy, cold weather. We set up our rain canopy next to the fire pit and enjoyed the fire, even in the rain.
Most of the hikes in the Cascades as well as around Anacortes have cool vegetation. There is moss all over everything and neat mushrooms.
There is an amazing park within walking distance to our marina. They have fire pits on the beach. We met up with Terry, one of our friends from the dock and had a sunset beach campfire and BBQ. Nice!

Been thinking of you two and am glad that you are still having fun. Beautiful photos..thanks for sharing! We had about 10 days of highs in the 70’s but woke up yesterday to about 3 inches of snow. Guess autumn is over.

Yep, winter is here! We had a nice stretch of sunshine last week, but we are back to the typical weather pattern now.

Thank you for the update! I check the blog for new postings as part of my on-line morning ritual, so I’m always excited when I find a new headline. You apparently listened hard while studying for your Parks & Recreation master’s degree as you seem to have this leisure thing down. Cheryl Beeler must be so proud! Keep those postings coming. They really are a joy to receive.
