We were excited to get a visit from my cousin Chris and uncle Dave this past week. Dave is a retired American Airlines pilot and his sons Chris and Mike both have their pilot licenses and are currently building their own planes! Chris currently has a plane and flew from Sacramento to Reno to pick up my uncle and then on to Anacortes, WA.
Chris and Dave at the Anacortes airport with Chris’s plane.
Chris was nice enough to take Erik and I up in his plane to tour the area. I was reluctant at first given a bit of fear of small planes. Dave had fun teasing that a plane ride would be perfectly safe. “It will probably be ok” he said. My arm was twisted and I agreed. Boy am I glad! The views were wonderful and it was a neat experience being able to see out the front of the plane when we were landing.
Chris did an excellent job flying and landing the plane and I am truly impressed! Erik and I had a great visit with them and enjoyed catching up, comparing aviation and marine stuff and commiserating about politics. I am looking forward to future visits and am so glad they came.
