Friends Marc and Sue recommended this very cool website called Trustedhousitters.com. This is a website that pairs people who need a house sitter/pet sitter, with people who are willing to house sit/pet sit and like to travel. We made a profile and went through a background check, and can search for available house sits world wide. You stay for free at the people’s house while taking care of their pets. Seems like a perfect arrangement for us to save money while traveling and getting to hang out with cool pets. Our first house sit was in Port Angeles on the Olympic Peninsula with a very cool dog named Gabe.
Gabe was really well trained and really fun to hang out with. We took him hiking, hung out on the couch and enjoyed time on the Olympic Peninsula. There was a fantastic bike trail nearby and the fall scenery was nice.
Erik was an expert pooper scooper! We look forward to doing more sits as we develop more travel plans.
